The 2024 King and Queen of the Ring tournament continued during the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, featuring four quarterfinal matches.
Earlier this week on RAW, four similar matches took place to determine the red brand's bracket for the tournament. In the 2024 King of the Ring tournament, Gunther emerged victorious over Kofi Kingston and will now face Jey Uso in the semifinals next week, vying for a spot in the finals at the 2024 King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, in the 2024 Queen of the Ring tournament, Damage CTRL's IYO SKY will look to establish her dominance on the RAW brand when she faces former NXT Women's Champion Lyra Valkyria in the semifinals.
Following this week's episode of WWE SmackDown, the remaining two semifinal matches have been determined.
Bianca Belair vs. Nia Jax
One of the favorites for the Queen of the Ring this year, Jade Cargill, made a surprising exit from the tournament during this week's SmackDown. Her match against Nia Jax ended in a disqualification after Cargill wielded a chair at Nia out of frustration, resulting in The Irresistible Force advancing to the semifinals next week.
Nia Jax will now face the other half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Bianca Belair. The EST secured her spot in the semifinals after a hard-fought win over Tiffany Stratton during the show.
Randy Orton vs. Tama Tonga
In the main event of the latest episode of SmackDown, Randy Orton faced Carmelo Hayes for a spot in the semifinals of the 2024 King of the Ring tournament. The former NXT Champion had a great showing but eventually fell to the three most destructive letters in all of Sports Entertainment, the RKO, as The Viper secured his spot in the semifinals.
Randy Orton's wish came true as he will now be taking on The Bloodline's Tama Tonga next week for a spot in the finals at the 2024 King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Legend Killer will be looking to get his revenge on The Bloodline after he and Kevin Owens lost the match against Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga at Backlash France.
