WWE SummerSlam is just two weeks away (August 3), and the premium live event continues to get more exciting with each new match added. Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown saw a seemingly inevitable title match finally added to card for The Biggest Party of the Summer. Logan Paul will defend his United States Championship against his longtime foe.

LA Knight and Logan Paul put pen to paper on their United States Championship match at SummerSlam. They did so while exchanging verbal blows in front of SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis.

The pair have been feuding for months ever since bumping heads backstage. Their two egotistical personalities have made their rivalry personal, and they will settle their differences at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.

Intriguingly, Logan Paul will have a hometown advantage, and it will be intriguing to see whether fans side with The Maverick. He was heavily booed on the blue brand tonight, and fans are quite vocal for him to lose his title to the fastest-rising megastar in WWE.

LA Knight has yet to taste singles gold on the main roster, and his only singles title in WWE so far has been his Million Dollar Championship reign in NXT. He could be finally set for his big win at one of the Stamford-based promotion's biggest PLEs of the year.

Their title match is added to an already stacked WWE SummerSlam card. Cody Rhodes defends his Undisputed WWE Championship against The Bloodline's new leader, Solo Sikoa. Their issues have involved the latter's faction, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

Bayley will put her WWE Women's Championship on the line against Nia Jax in Ohio. The Queen of the Ring is undoubtedly the champion's biggest test since winning the title at WrestleMania XL.

On the WWE RAW side, Gunther will challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. Their feud appears to lead to a babyface turn for The Judgment Day's Archer of Infamy.

Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley's long-awaited grudge match comes in two weeks, with Dominik Mysterio entangled in their war. The Women's World Champion puts her title on the line against the joint-longest reigning champion in history.

Here is the updated WWE SummerSlam card:

  • Damian Priest (c) vs. Gunther - Singles match for World Heavyweight Championship
  • Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax - Singles match for the WWE Women's Championship
  • Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley - Singles match for the Women's World Championship
  • Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa - Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
  • Logan Paul (c) vs. LA Knight - Singles match for the United States Championship

What was said between Logan Paul and LA Knight during their WWE SummerSlam title match contract signing?

Logan Paul and LA Knight got into a war of words on WWE SmackDown, eventually leading to them exchanging blows physically. The challenger pointed out that he's constantly cooked his rival whenever they meet.

The Maverick downplayed needing to defend his title against Knight at WWE SummerSlam and insisted the veteran star isn't on his level. He accused his foe of impersonating The Rock, which the former TNA star laughed off.

LA Knight got under Logan Paul's skin by name-dropping his brother, Jake Paul. He highlighted the boxer's willingness to fight Mike Tyson while the United States Champion avoids the Californian star.

The champion signed the contract before their verbal barbs became a physical battle. Paul tried taking Knight out but to no avail, but he slipped away once the challenger got the better of the scuffle. It was the perfect contract signing to get fans even more invested in their upcoming match at WWE SummerSlam.
