Vince reportedly furious over Byron Saxton's Raw debacle, preferring Renee Young

Byron Saxton took over the commentary duties after Lesnar injured the Raw announcers team

WWE insider MetsFan4Ever on Reddit, who has been known for breaking several backstage stories, is reporting that NXT commentator Byron Saxton has fallen out of favor with Vince McMahon following his performance on RAW last week. Saxton was sent out to call the show alone following the segment where Brock Lesnar took out the Raw announcers’ team after an F5 on Michael Cole and flipped over the announce table, which also “injured” JBL and Booker T.

McMahon was said to be furious at Saxton’s unenthusiastic performance and eventually sent out Jerry Lawler to liven things up. When Saxton came backstage after the show, Vince reportedly completely ignored him. The feeling is that he didn’t “grab the brass ring” despite the perfect opportunity.

It’s believed that Vince and producer Kevin Dunn are much more in favor of Renee Young being the next announcer to join RAW when one of the current trio retires. At the moment, however, she will continue gaining experience with her various WWE Network roles.
