WWE’s Wade Barrett has transitioned into commentary after taking a break from wrestling in 2016. He currently does commentary on the RAW brand. However, as the Stamford-based promotion shifts the Monday Night Show to Netflix, Triple H is bringing back star commentator Pat McAfee. So, will Barrett be leaving RAW in January 2025?

Pat McAfee had been away from WWE since August to work for ESPN’s coverage of college football. During this time, several superstars also visited him and enjoyed the games. Recently, Triple H confirmed that McAfee will return for the RAW-Netflix transition with a full-time position.

Additionally, Michael Cole has confirmed that he will be returning to RAW for Netflix. Since WWE has two commentators on each brand, this means that Wade Barrett might be leaving the Monday Night Show.

The company could move him to another brand or reserve him for Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, all of this is speculation so far, and the Stamford-based promotion has not released any official confirmation.

Wade Barrett could also become Gunther’s manager

At the recent Survivor Series: WarGames, Gunther retained his World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Damian Priest with some help from Finn Balor. Following the win, The Ring General joined Wade Barrett and Big E to speak with Jackie Redmond. Interestingly, Barrett was clad in the gear of The Imperium.

The commentator confirmed that he was supporting Gunther for his title defense. Moreover, he asked the Austrian superstar if he had met the requirements to join The Imperium. In response, The Ring General said that he had been discussing the same thing with Ludwig Kaiser and noted that Barrett definitely made the cut.

"We talked about that before around here. Ludwig and I are both under the assumption that Wade would be a very fitting member," Gunther said.

While Wade Barrett was pleased with Gunther’s response, he admitted he was too old for in-ring competition. However, since both seem interested in working together, WWE could appoint the 40-year-old as The Ring General’s manager. It would be interesting to see if they appear on screen together.
