What actually happened between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes after WWE WrestleMania XL? Exploring the truth

Cody Rhodes dethroned Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL but with the help of several other superstars such as John Cena, The Undertaker, Seth Rollins, and Jey Uso. Following the match, The American Nightmare celebrated for quite a while with the babyfaces of WWE and his family, and of course, Triple H! Upon coming backstage, the Undisputed WWE Champion noticed that Roman Reigns had left the arena. Interestingly, both Rhodes and Reigns addressed that.

Jimmy Traina from Sports Illustrated had asked the champion if he shared a moment with Joe Anoa'i (the man behind The OTC's mask) about the history they created at WrestleMania XL. To this, Rhodes responded by saying that there was no need for it and that, Reigns was nowhere to be found.

In a recent interview with Jimmy Traina, The OTC agreed that there wasn't any need for it, but also expressed that he couldn't keep waiting backstage while The American Nightmare took an excruciatingly long time to finish his celebration:

"There's no need. But if you want to sit out there and babyface for four hours, then I ain't waiting, you know what I mean? Especially at that point. What's waiting? You know what I'm saying, I mean what kind of time are we talking about here? There's a lot of stuff... Exactly, and there's a lot to be had in that night as well. And I don't live in Philly. There's some jet fuel to be burnt and I had to go." [20:13-20:52]

Nevertheless, The OTC did acknowledge that both of them knew what they had achieved together in the ring and that they had put their bodies on the line for the main event.

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are yet to reignite their feud

The OTC and The American Nightmare are huge babyfaces in the company at the moment. WWE has seldom experienced phases where two big babyfaces are working at the same time, especially with a future feud brewing in the distance.

Currently, Cody Rhodes is engaged in a rivalry with Kevin Owens after The Prizefighter turned on him at Bad Blood. On the other hand, Roman Reigns is going to war against The Bloodline at WarGames along with The Usos, Sami Zayn, and CM Punk.

It is highly anticipated that Reigns and Rhodes will reignite their feud ahead of WrestleMania XLI, but The Rock will enter the title storyline on the same Road to WrestleMania.
