Big E has broken his silence over the increasing rift between his New Day mates, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. At the pre-show of WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Wade Barrett asked Big E about his take on the recent scuffle between Woods and Kingston.
The former WWE Champion didn't exactly reveal his mind, and he tried to avoid answering the question on his New Day mates.
"What is it that you want me to say? I know, I know (when asked about The New Day's 10th anniversary coming up)."
Big E is anticipated to be present on Monday Night RAW on December 2 to mark the 10th anniversary of the New Day as a group. It is also speculated that he might try to bring a truce between Woods and Kingston.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods haven't been on the same page for quite a while now. The two had a heated exchange last week on RAW when the duo lost to The Alpha Academy. Moreover, it wasn't the first time they had lost a match on RAW because of their miscommunication.
Before this, Kofi Kingston had lost an important match against Pete Dunne after Xavier Woods caused outside interference. However, things turned worse between them last week on RAW as they spoke harsh words against each other.
While Kofi called out Woods for not winning a WWE championship ever since he wasn't "good enough," Woods shot back at Kofi saying he lost the WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar within six seconds.
The two have never quarreled to this extent in the past and it is speculated that only Big E might be able to settle things between them.
Big E might also announce his retirement from in-ring competition
There are also speculations that the former WWE Champion might announce his retirement from in-ring competition on the 10th anniversary of the New Day. The 38-year-old has been out of action since the March 11, 2022, edition of SmackDown when he suffered a horrendous neck injury while taking a belly-to-belly suplex.
Big E broke his neck and also suffered fractures in his C1 and C6 vertebrae. He did address his return to the ring three months ago, saying that it was hard for him to tell at this stage about whether or not he would ever return to wrestling.
“We’ll see (if I could ever wrestle again). Right now, my neck is just not ossifying. It’s not turning into new bone quite yet. It is kind of healing fibrously. So, it’s all connected and it’s no fear that if I were pushed too hard or if I were bumped, anything would happen. None of that. But I’m not really in a position right now to be cleared, medically, because of the nature of what we do is very physical and taking bumps requires you to have a rock-solid neck. So, we’ll see what the future holds," Big E said. [H/T - Post Wrestling]
Neck injuries have in the past led superstars like Adam Copeland (fka Edge), Daniel Bryanson (fka Daniel Bryan), and Stone Cold Steve Austin to announce their retirement from in-ring competition.
Big E too can do the same on RAW and ask Kofi and Woods to continue the group's legacy instead of fighting each other.
