Although most WWE feuds and rivalries seemingly end inside the ring, some make it into real life like Goldberg and Bret Hart. From the looks of it, their feelings remain the same up to this day.

In 1999, Bret Hart and Goldberg faced off in that year's Starrcade event where the former defended the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. During the match, Hart received a kick to the head from his opponent, resulting in a severe concussion. Not long after, The Hitman announced his retirement in 2000 but appeared sporadically throughout the years. They have been at odds since then and have criticized each other any chance they get, with the most recent jab coming from the former Universal Champion.

On INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Goldberg talked about the animosity between him and Bret. He stated that he no longer cared about The Hitman, but cited that he talked to Louis Gregory (AKA Uncle Louie) so that Hart could land a job at Legends of Wrestling.

“I really don’t care anymore about Bret, I could care less. You know Louis, right? All I can tell you is this. Louis and I know and [Brian] Knobbs knows, through Legends of Wrestling that shortly thereafter all that s**t that happened. I talked Louis into giving Bret Hart a job at Legends of Wrestling. He must forget about stuff like that. He must forget about the conversations we had back then.” [H/T ChrisVanVliet.com]

After WCW was bought in 2001, Da Man wrestled in WWE from 2003 until 2004. He returned to the company in 2016 where he wrestled until 2022, being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.

Have Goldberg and Bret Hart talked to each other after what happened in 1999?

Usually, it is known that time heals all wounds, but that may not have been the case between the former WCW World Tag Team Champions. Instead, their relationship only turned sour.

In the same interview, the WWE Hall of Famer shared that he and Bret talked a couple of times, but not recently due to the comments from the latter, adding that he doesn't need to prove anything to The Hitman. Goldberg added that he did not intend to hurt The Hitman and was still "green" when the match happened.

Although it has been years since the WCW accident happened, it looks like fans shouldn't expect the Hall of Famers to be on the same page anytime soon.
