After spending a few months off to recover from a torn groin, Braun Strowman recently returned to WWE, but this time, he left RAW and moved to SmackDown. As he was trying to build momentum, he missed the last edition of the blue brand show as well as the RAW premiere on Netflix earlier in the week.

The Monster Among Men took to social media and provided an update on his status, explaining why he has been out over the past few days. Braun Strowman said that he was dealing with an illness that forced him to spend time off, but he should be back soon.

"I have lost 36lbs in this week. Had test taken and all they could determine is that it was a very bad flu thankfully. I hate I have had to miss last week's SmackDown, the premier of RAW on Netflix and I will miss TV again this week. This is yet another speed bump in the road. I will be back bigger, stronger, and badder than ever!!! There hasn’t been anything this life has thrown at me that I haven’t been able to able to OVERCOME and this sure as hell isn’t gonna stop me in having one of my best years to date!!!!!" Braun posted on Instagram.

The former Universal Champion appeared in the last two episodes of SmackDown in 2024 (December 13 and 27), dealing with Carmelo Hayes, Austin Theory, and The New Bloodline.

Braun Strowman could start a feud with The New Bloodline upon his return

Braun Strowman came to the aid of Sami Zayn on the December 27 episode of SmackDown, getting tangled in The Bloodline saga.

Given that Solo and Co. continue to target members of The OG Bloodline, aided often inadvertently by Drew McIntyre, The Monster Among Men could continue to come to the aid of Sami Zayn and The Usos and kick off a feud with The New Bloodline.

On this occasion, the WWE creative team could put him either in tag team action alongside The Usos and Sami Zayn on SmackDown or in singles action against Solo Sikoa or Jacob Fatu. After observing the WWE Universe's reaction to the Braun-Jacob stand-off on the blue brand previously, their potential encounter is sure to be entertaining.
