At some point in time, Becky Lynch will lose one of her titles. Maybe Asuka will get the job done, in continuing the story of her having Lynch’s number after their Royal Rumble match. Maybe Charlotte Flair will take a title in the next chapter of their storied rivalry. There are a number of other talents who could be in the running like Lacey Evans, Kairi Sane, Natalya, Carmella, or even a returning Ronda Rousey.

If Lynch were to get in the habit of two defenses a night on PPVs, we can wager that she’d drop her first title in her second defense—worn down after a grueling bout, and toughing out a second contest. The scenario sets up a readily built excuse for Lynch to lose, while putting her over in defeat for still going through with a defense, despite not working the match at full strength.
