Austin Theory and Carmelo Hayes wrestled in a singles bout in the recent episode of WWE SmackDown. However, things ended rather abruptly when Austin Theory tried to deliver a top-rope move on the former NXT Champion, but things didn't go as planned, as the necks of both stars hit the surface of the ring hard.
Immediately after this spot, the official called off the match, and the ringside medical doctor started checking both stars. This scary spot also generated a major concern among fans regarding the health status of Austin Theory and Melo, as the spot seemed to be quite nasty.
However, WWE cleared the air regarding the status of both superstars through their official social media accounts. The company revealed that both superstars were okay and only suffered face contusions in the bump. The Stamford-based promotion stated that:
"UPDATE: Following their match tonight on #SmackDown, @_Theory1 and @Carmelo_WWE were evaluated for injuries. They both suffered face contusions, and will both be okay."
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
The statement from the company provides relief to many as both stars are safe from any major concussion.
