A week before the release of Netflix's docuseries - Mr. McMahon, former WWE employee, Janel Grant's attorneys/representatives, Ann Callis and Charles Munn held a press conference. For those unaware, the docuseries covers the rise and fall of former WWE boss, Vince McMahon, who Grant filed a lawsuit against earlier this year.
Based on the trailer, Mr. McMahon, won't cover the Grant situation in detail but will touch on the subject. As per wrestling journalist, Samantha Schipman, Callis in the press conference was asked if she and Grant had watched the docuseries yet. The attorney denied having watched it.
Questions were also asked about whether Janel Grant was asked to be a part of the docuseries. Callis replied that Grant deserved to tell her own story without being part of someone else's. You can check out Samantha Schipman's detailed X (fka Twitter) thread by clicking here.

When asked if the decision to speak to Netflix was based on how the docuseries was presented, Callis had the same answer that her client deserved to tell her own story. The Mr. McMahon docuseries which will release on September 25 will also feature Vince McMahon's close aids like Bruce Prichard and John Cena.
Janel Grant's representatives further spoke about other things related to the lawsuit
The press conference held by Janel Grant's attorney/representatives began with Callis mentioning that her client had allegedly survived "incompressible abuse." She further touched upon the trauma suffered by her client who was suffering from mental health conditions and was sometimes unable to leave home for weeks at a time.
When asked if other victims had come forward since the lawsuit came to light, Callis mentioned that some women did in the beginning, but things changed due to the current situation. However, the attorney added she and her team believe that possible non-disclosure agreements (NDA) could be preventing other potential victims from speaking up
Further, Ann Callis was asked if WWE tried to establish contact with Janel Grant and her team. She answered there was some contact established in the beginning, but she and her team have not heard from the Stamford-based promotion since.
Next, Ann Callis mentioned that the names of other people mentioned in the lawsuit won't be whitewashed. She emphasized that Grant deserved to have her day in court and tell her side of the story.
The attorney was also questioned about how Janel Grant has been portrayed in the press. Callis replied that her client was a human being and deserved justice. She added that Grant was a survivor of alleged abuse. Kendra Lamy from SKDK concluded by saying Grant was a victim and survivor.
