AJ Styles was drafted to WWE SmackDown along with the rest of The O.C. as part of the Draft 2023. The Phenomenal One appeared on the blue brand this week for an interview segment with former rival Grayson Waller. It is safe to say that the interaction didn’t go down so well.
AJ Styles appeared on the Grayson Waller Effect this week on WWE SmackDown. The two stars are no strangers to each other. Waller and Styles were involved in a program while The Arrogant Aussie was still in WWE NXT. Their feud even led to a match on the January 11, 2022, episode of NXT 2.0.

The feud kicked off after Styles interrupted Grayson Waller on the December 21, 2021, episode of WWE NXT. This was The Phenomenal One’s first appearance on the developmental brand.

For those unaware, the inaugural NXT Iron Survivor Challenge winner was drafted to SmackDown as part of the WWE Draft 2023. Waller was among a handful of NXT names that were moved to the main roster during the Draft.
He made his SmackDown debut during a backstage segment with Adam Pearce on May 12, 2023. The exchange went pretty well as Waller told Pearce about his intent to host the Grayson Waller Effect on the blue brand.
Grayson Waller tried to get under AJ Styles’ skin on WWE SmackDown
The Phenomenal One defeated a stitched-up Bobby Lashley last week on SmackDown to enter the final of the tournament for the World Heavyweight Championship. Styles will meet Seth Rollins in the final at WWE Night of Champions 2023.
The veteran appeared on the Grayson Waller Effect on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. Styles told Waller and the WWE Universe that he worked incredibly hard during his time away from active competition due to injury.
Waller said he was most looking forward to the tournament final in Saudi Arabia on May 27. He irked AJ Styles by saying that Mike Rome will announce Seth Rollins as the winner of the highly-anticipated match-up next Saturday.
It remains to be seen whether a rivalry between Styles and Waller is brewing.
