Back on Christmas Day in 2022, Dominik Mysterio was arrested after a confrontation he had with his father Rey Mysterio, and the rest of his family, which also featured his then-on-screen girlfriend Rhea Ripley.
Dirty Dom and Mami showed up at Dominik's grandparents' house to spend Christmas with the Mysterio family. However, Rey told them to leave amid the rivalry between father and son.
Things escalated quickly, with Rhea Ripley pushing Rey Mysterio and Rey's wife slapping her in the face. Immediately after that, police arrived at Rey Mysterio's house and eventually arrested Dominik.
Rhea Ripley was furious with police officers, with Dirty Dom telling her to call Finn Balor and Damian Priest to bail him out. This angle was part of father and son's rivalry that led to a match at WrestleMania 39 in April 2023.

Dominik Mysterio calls his WrestleMania 39 entrance special
The feud between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio led to a blockbuster match at WrestleMania 39. Dirty Dom appeared at 'Mania for the second time in his career and had an impressive entrance.
The former champion was part of a video showing him being released from prison. Once the video ended, he entered the stage in a police vehicle, having his own WrestleMania moment.
Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, he called this moment special and an honor for his WWE career.
"The more I sat and thought about it, I realized, ‘No, screw that! This is special. I have a unique entrance for myself.’ Everyone goes down the ramp, but not everyone gets a memorable entrance like this. On my second WrestleMania, to have my own entrance with the paddy wagon, the handcuffs, and the video package—it was honestly a huge blessing to just be part of that. Dirty Dom eventually lost the match, with his father Rey standing tall and beating his son. Their rivalry, though, didn't end there and continues until now, with a rematch at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas being a likely scenario.
