When was the last time Andrade held the United States Championship? Revisiting the WWE star's title reign history

Andrade challenged LA Knight for the United States Championship on WWE SmackDown but came up short. El Idolo performed well but could not get the better of The Megastar whose title reign continued.

It means Andrade was unable to reclaim the title he previously held from December 2019 to May 2020. His reign was perhaps the height of his main roster stint before he left the company in 2021.

The 34-year-old beat Rey Mysterio at a house show in Madison Square Garden to become the United States Champion. He defended the title several times against the likes of Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, Ricochet, and Humberto Carillo.

Andrade's title reign ended at 151 days when Apollo Crews defeated him on the May 25, 2020 episode of WWE RAW. He then entered a tag team with Angel Garza before his first spell with the promotion fizzled out, and he was granted his release.

The Mexican star returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble in January earlier this year. He's been tackling the midcard since his return, and tonight was his biggest match since returning to the company.

The former AEW star put on quite a show tonight against LA Knight that reminded fans of his talents. This came after an enthralling 3-2 series win against Carmelo Hayes that led to tonight's title match.

Andrade failed to dethrone LA Knight and win back the United States Championship. This was a setback for El Idolo as he continues to try to climb the ladder on WWE SmackDown.

The former NXT Champion has been putting on spectacular matches on the blue brand. However, his mic skills are perhaps not at the standard required to carry the show through no fault of his own.

The language barrier issue was rectified during his first run with the promotion when Zelina Vega was his manager. She did a stellar job in making him seem big-time, especially during his NXT Championship run.

Zelina is currently preoccupied with The Pure Fusion Collective on WWE RAW. In April, the former Queen of the Ring and her LWO faction were Drafted to Monday nights.

That said, SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis could try to make a deal with his counterpart, Adam Pearce. He could try to persuade the RAW general manager to part ways with Zelina in exchange for one of his brand's stars.

That's if Andrade pushes for a reunion with his former manager, but it could help propel his career. He has all the abilities to shine in the ring, and adding a mouthpiece as strong as Zelina would do him wonders.
