WWE Friday Night SmackDown tonight was an important show, as it was the final stop before SummerSlam. The big event was made even bigger thanks to a face-to-face confrontation between Solo Sikoa and Cody Rhodes.

The American Nightmare and the new Tribal Chief had a war of words in the center of the ring, but that wasn't the only notable aspect of their segment. Solo Sikoa attempted to change the course of their upcoming SummerSlam match by making their bout to be contested under Bloodline Rules. The ante was certainly upped by that proposal.

Cody Rhodes, never the one to back down, accepted the challenge, but some fans may not quite remember what the stipulation means or when it was last seen on WWE television. A Bloodline Rules Match is essentially a No Disqualification Match and it last took place in the main event of WrestleMania 40.

More specifically, Cody Rhodes battled Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Bloodline Rules Match at WrestleMania 40 Sunday back in April. Due to the stipulation, weapons, interference, and general chaos were not only accepted but encouraged.

Cody Rhodes stood tall when he battled Roman Reigns despite interference from Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and The Rock on The Tribal Chief's behalf. Still, with no count-outs, no disqualification, and anything being legal, The American Nightmare has his work cut out for him at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

The Bloodline hope to win more WWE gold following SmackDown

The bout between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa will be a big one, as The Tribal Chief is hoping to further establish this new Bloodline's dominance by winning the Undisputed WWE Championship. Step one of his plan took place on SmackDown.

The main event of SmackDown saw the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions DIY put their titles on the line against The Bloodline's Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu. Solo Sikoa and Tonga Loa were ringside, which inevitably meant plenty of interference was included.

While Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa fought their hearts out, four against two was too much for DIY to bear. Jacob Fatu ultimately decimated Johnny Wrestling with a quick flurry of moves after a hard-fought bout. This won them the tag team titles and brought gold back to The Bloodline for the first time since WrestleMania 40.

With tag team gold now in the hands of The Bloodline, the second and final move is for the group to win the world title at SummerSlam by dethroning Cody Rhodes. Whether Solo Sikoa will stand tall in the next Bloodline Rules Match remains to be seen, but the deck is certainly stacked against The American Nightmare.
