The latest episode of WWE SmackDown from the All State Arena in Chicago opened with hometown hero CM Punk receiving a huge reception. Punk addressed his actions at Clash at the Castle" Scotland and his ongoing feud with Drew McIntyre. The segment took an intriguing turn when Paul Heyman made his way out to confront his former client.
This marked the first time in years that CM Punk and Heyman worked together since their legendary partnership all the way back in 2012-2013. During their time together, Punk had one of the longest WWE Championship reigns in history then, with Heyman serving as his advocate. However, things took a drastic turn during the Money in the Bank ladder match in July, 2013 as Heyman shockingly turned on Punk.
Their last interaction on-screen was episode of RAW after MITB, where Heyman delivered a scathing promo, revealing his true motives and officially ending their partnership.
Hence, it was great to see the two legendary personalities on the screen together during WWE SmackDown once again after so many years.
WWE Hall of Famer wants to reunite with CM Punk
There was an interesting development during the segment involving The Bloodline and CM Punk on the blue brand tonight. Paul Heyman warned Punk that Solo Sikoa and the Tongans were looking to take out The Second City Saint and therefore he was out to do Punk a favor.Heyman simply asked him to get out of the ring.
Punk didn't budge, however, as he asked Heyman what favor he needed in return. The Wiseman shockingly revealed that he wanted Punk to take him along with him. This revelation shows that Heyman is increasingly unhappy working with this new iteration of The Bloodline in Roman Reigns' absence and wants to get out as soon as possible.
It will be interesting to see how this situation develops and if Heyman really reunites with his former client, CM Punk.
