Before becoming the Women's World Champion, Liv Morgan worked mainly mid-card storylines. Five years ago on RAW, the female star had a storyline with former WWE Superstars Rusev, Bobby Lashley, and Lana.
During a segment on the December 30 episode on RAW in 2019, Lana and Bobby Lashley were about to get married in the ring. However, Liv Morgan returned and interrupted the ceremony, revealing her feelings for Lana.
Lana assaulted Liv in the ring before Rusev showed up and assaulted Bobby Lashley, setting the stage for a mixed tag team match, where Rusev teamed up with Liv Morgan against Lana and Bobby Lashley. However, WWE didn't continue with this storyline and ended it prematurely, with all four superstars going in different directions.
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
Rusev left the company in 2020, and Lana did so one year later. They eventually joined AEW. Bobby Lashley is the latest to become All Elite after leaving WWE in August 2024.
Liv Morgan said she would like to work the storyline romance with Lana again
The reigning Women's World Champion has been asked about her storyline with Lana and has opened up about the possibility of the creative team doing a similar storyline again.
Liv Morgan had an interview with Inside The Ropes and Kenny McIntosh and said she would love to revisit that storyline with the former WWE star again.
"Me personally, I would love to touch on that story again, because I think it’s so important just to show not different people but, you know, ‘Hey, maybe I love this girl,’ you know, like, I think it’s important just to show that. But I don’t think you ever can ever say never in WWE. I think anything and everything is open to being visited again. Is that happening? I have no idea. But would I like it? For sure. But it was a very crazy experience," Liv said.
Lana recently took to social media and asked her followers whether they would like to see her return to WWE for the RAW premiere on Netflix on January 6, 2025. Triple H and the team could consider a storyline between the two stars if she returns.
For now, the reigning Women's World Champion is focused not only on Rhea Ripley but also on her title match with IYO SKY at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.
