It has been a long time since fans saw the 'Demon' persona from Finn Balor. The Judgment Day star last used his alter ego in a WWE Universal Championship Match against Roman Reigns back in 2021, as well as a in a loss to Edge at WrestleMania 39 back in April 2023.
Since then, Finn Balor has not brought back his 'Demon' persona back and it appears that it will take a long time before fans get to see him again in the ring.
This is what the reigning WWE World Tag Team Champion said, adding that the 'Demon' will return when Balor turns into a babyface, which could take up to six years to happen.
"I would like to keep Finn as a heel and The Demon as the babyface and not blur the lines at all. But it’s so hard, and I feel like The Demon’s kind of something that we haven’t executed very well the last couple years and I’d rather not - not do it than do it in a way that I’m not happy with so, and look, in six years time, they can throw me out there in Demon paint and I’ll do the entrance."
He continued further, stating:
"But now, Finn’s having too much fun and I feel like I can give a lot more layers as a heel Finn than The Demon. The Demon’s just very straight-forward," Finn Balor said in an interview with the What’s The Story podcast, via Ringside News.
Finn Balor is currently a heel in WWE, and the creative team apparently has no plans to turn him into a babyface soon, which makes a 'Demon' return an unlikely scenario at the moment.
Finn Balor says heel turn gave him a new direction in WWE
Finn Balor revealed that having a heel turn and joining The Judgment Day was what he needed to turn things around. The current World Tag Team Champion revealed that being a babyface for such a long time hurt his career, and a heel turn was what he needed to get back on track.
"We went with the story of putting me and AJ (Styles) and Liv (Morgan) together as a little kind of faction just so I had someone to turn on. That was literally set up just for me to turn, and originally, I was supposed to turn on AJ, but then it all changed. I turned on Edge because I think someone got injured, and they needed to turn Edge back babyface or something like that. One domino falls, the whole stack goes," he said on the same podcast. Finn Balor is expected to possibly turn on fellow Judgment Day member Damian Priest soon and have a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.
