WWE 2K24 was a massive success, becoming the highest-rated game in the 2K series so far. Now, there's exciting news for video game enthusiasts about the next iteration in the series, WWE 2K25.
During Take-Two's latest earnings call, the company confirmed that WWE 2K25 was in development and set for a release in Q4 of the fiscal year of 2025, before March 31, 2025. Take-Two, the parent company of major publishing labels like 2K, Zynga, and Rockstar Games made the announcement, with another March release being a strong possibility.
The earnings call also highlighted how WWE 2K24 significantly boosted the game's overall popularity. Given recent trends, it's likely that the Stamford-based promotion will make an official announcement about WWE 2K25's release during the Royal Rumble season next year.
Cody Rhodes talked about being the cover star of WWE 2K24
Cody Rhodes was the cover star of the standard edition of WWE 2K24. Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair graced the cover of the deluxe edition.
Ahead of the 2024 Royal Rumble, Rhodes shared his thoughts on being featured on the cover of the popular video game. He described it as a dream come true and placed it among the top moments of his career, alongside his 2023 Royal Rumble victory and main-eventing WrestleMania 39.
“I put it up there with winning the Royal Rumble, I put it up there with headlining WrestleMania 39. I want to go as far as I can go, and adding the 2K24 cover to that means a whole lot... Again, these are the type of things that you think about as a little kid dreaming about becoming a wrestler. You want to be at WrestleMania, you want to be on Monday Night RAW. This is a dream. That’s what it feels like. I don’t want it to end,” Rhodes said. [H/T Sports Illustrated]
Cody Rhodes went on to win the Royal Rumble for the second year in a row. The American Nightmare finally finished his story at WrestleMania 40 when he defeated Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Champion.
