WWE is soon going to bring another spectacular premium live event for fans: Backlash. World Wrestling Entertainment recently started a new calendar year after the celebration of the biggest-ever WrestleMania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While there were several title changes following The Show of Shows, Backlash 2024 will mark the first time that the new champions will defend their belts. However, where is the PLE going to be held this year, and when? Here is all you need to know about it.

WWE has been carrying out several of its annual PLEs outside the United States of America, and the Backlash 2024 Premium Live Event is no exception. The Stamford-based promotion will host the event at the LDLC Arena, Decines-Charpieu in Lyon Metropolis, France. The event will take place on May 4, 2024, and the ticket sales are already going amazing.

Several fans will also be tuning into the action on their screens. The PLE will be available for streaming on Peacock in the United States of America and the WWE Network for the rest of the world. Several local streaming distributors will also have live coverage of the event. WWE Backlash will begin at 12:30 PM EST on all these streaming platforms.

The first edition of WWE Backlash happened back in 1999, which would also make this year the 25th anniversary of the PLE. Making the occasion special, the Stamford-based company will put on several interesting matches, including the writing of a new chapter after Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania XL.

WWE Backlash 2024 match card will be stacked

The Backlash 2024 Premium Live Event will see the newly crowned Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defend his title for the first time. The American Nightmare will be facing AJ Styles in France to defend his coveted title. Apart from Rhodes, his former tag team partner, Jey Uso will also enter a title match to challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. As of now, only these two matches have been announced.

The Yeet Master and The Phenomenal One entered these matches after becoming the number one contenders for these respective championships. Similarly, the match card of Backlash France will get several other matches after the top contenders for the titles are decided. Since Becky Lynch won the Women’s World Championship on the latest episode of RAW, fans can see a new potential challenger such as Liv Morgan going face-to-face with The Man at the premium live event.

Fans will also be excited to see the potential clash between Sami Zayn and Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship. Zayn, who has never had good luck with friendships whenever he has become a singles champion, might face Gable at the event. As the Stamford-based promotion progresses towards Backlash France, more exciting matches are going to be added to the card.
