It has been two months since Drew McIntyre made his last WWE appearance. Following his loss to CM Punk at Bad Blood in early October, which settled his rivalry with the Best in the World, The Scottish Warrior took time off to recover from his injuries and prepare for his next storyline.
The Hell in a Cell Match at Bad Blood allowed WWE to take both McIntyre and Punk off TV and help them move on from their nearly eight-month-long storyline. The Best in the World returned to WWE at Survivor Series on Saturday, but what about Drew McIntyre? Reports have surfaced that the RAW Superstar and WWE Creative have initiated talks about what is next for The Scottish Warrior.
The two sides have examined options and storylines that McIntyre could get involved in, but reports suggest there is no deal on what he will do next. Thus, it remains unclear when he will be back and who he will target next. Still, the expectation is that he should be back before the RAW premiere on Netflix (January 6, 2025).

Drew McIntyre got involved in several storylines in 2024
The Scottish Warrior did a great job as a heel in 2024, getting involved in several storylines on Monday Night RAW.
It wasn't just his rivalry with CM Punk that lasted most of the year. It was his feud with then-World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, which ended at WrestleMania 40, where Drew McIntyre dethroned The Visionary to become the new champion.
However, his title reign lasted a few minutes as Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and claimed the World Heavyweight Championship. Since then, the Scottish Warrior attempted to reclaim his title from The Punisher, but CM Punk was there to cost him the title opportunities he had.
Fast-forward to today, the expectation is that he will go after a major title again. If that doesn't happen on RAW, WWE could move him to SmackDown and have him go after the top face and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, provided that he will still be a heel upon his return.
