Paul Heyman was nowhere to be seen on the latest edition of SmackDown, which emanated from the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. The Wiseman has been away from WWE television since he suffered a vicious attack from The Bloodline. However, with Roman Reigns' return, the stage seemed set for his homecoming this week. Paul's notable absence has left fans wondering about his whereabouts.

Although Heyman was absent from the show, he was allegedly present backstage on SmackDown. He is believed to be playing a pivotal role in the progression of The Bloodline Saga from behind the curtains. The WWE Hall of Famer was even spotted backstage at SummerSlam 2024 before Reigns' monumental return at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

However, WWE deleted the picture shortly after posting it on its social media handles. This seems to be an indication that the Stamford-based promotion has been trying to keep Paul Heyman's presence a well-kept secret at this point. Although his reunion with The Original Tribal Chief seems inevitable, the company may not intend to pull the trigger at this point.

The Wiseman is seemingly helping Roman Reigns and The Bloodline from backstage in the ongoing storyline on SmackDown. His involvement in the creative process is paramount.

It will be interesting to see when Heyman returns to WWE television and aligns himself with Roman Reigns once again.

Possible reason behind WWE delaying Paul Heyman's return

Roman Reigns' return to WWE has ignited a wave of excitement among fans and opened the doors for numerous possibilities. One of those is Paul Heyman's return to television. However, for the third consecutive week, The Wiseman was nowhere to be seen along with Reigns.

A possible reason why WWE is delaying Heyman's return is due to the phase the storyline of The Bloodline is in. The layers of the saga are expected to unfold gradually, and the Stamford-based promotion does not seem to be in a rush. Currently, the company's primary focus is on how The Original Tribal Chief would fall prey to the heel faction's numbers game, and this was visible on SmackDown this week.

This could eventually lead to Roman Reigns bringing Paul Heyman and reuniting with Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso to re-form the original Bloodline. However, things would happen gradually, with each layer unfolding over time. The Wiseman's reunion with Reigns is expected to unfold dramatically somewhere down the line.

It will be interesting to see how the ongoing storylines unravel, especially after what happened this week on SmackDown.
