It has been a while since fans last saw Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman together in WWE. The last time they were in the ring was back on Night Two of WrestleMania 40 when the Original Tribal Chief lost his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes.
Following his loss, Roman Reigns took a four-month hiatus, only to return at SummerSlam in early August and confront Solo Sikoa. As for Paul Heyman, he stayed with the new version of The Bloodline for a while, but Solo Sikoa eventually assaulted him and kicked him out of the faction several weeks ago. The Hall of Famer has been away from live TV since then.
Roman Reigns and The Wiseman met publicly for the first time since WrestleMania 40, but their reunion didn't happen in WWE. The two reunited at the Power Players Summit in New York this week.
Roman Reigns opens up on what changes a move to Netflix could bring to WWE content
WWE is set to move to Netflix as early as January 2025, and it remains to be seen if this move will change the company's content and the direction of the creative team.
During his appearance at the Power Players Summit, the former Universal Champion said that he expects things to change when it comes to storytelling. Still, he doesn't see WWE going too far away from being a PG program.
"I have always enjoyed the challenges of being PG and no offense to our predecessors and the people who came before us and the ratings that they revolved around, but to me, it's a, it's more challenging to be able to tell these stories. It also allows you a broader audience to connect to which I just really feel like. It's always the goal. We want to reach as many people as possible," Roman Reigns said. [H/T Sportster]
That said, it remains to be seen how the streaming platform will change WWE's content and whether staying at a PG level will be one of the company's goals.
