Earlier today WWE's Chief Content Officer Paul, 'Triple H' Levesque, made a huge announcement. He said that the 2025 Royal Rumble as well as a future SummerSlam and WrestleMania Premium Live Events would be taking place at the home of the Indianapolis Colts, Lucas Oil Stadium.

The 'Rumble is set to take place on Saturday, February 1, next year, with the winners of the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble Matches punching their tickets to championship matches at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

Lucas Oil Stadium and the city of Indianapolis are no strangers to hosting big events. After the Colts moved in in 2008 it wasn't too long before the NFL chose to have its biggest game there, the Superbowl, which took place in 2012.

The stadium has also played host to several major college sporting events. It hosted the NCAA Basketball men's final four in 2010, 2015, and 2021, as well as College Football with the National Championship game being played there in 2022.

The Hoosier State is now looking to add WWE PLEs to its list of noteworthy events. The first of three major shows will see the Royal Rumble take place next February as the road to WrestleMania 41 begins.

Bayley on winning the 2024 WWE Women's Royal Rumble

Over the years the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event has been able to showcase some of the greatest moments in WWE history.

Another one of those iconic moments took place, earlier this year, as Bayley earned her title match for WrestleMania 40 after she won the Women's 'Rumble Match. She spoke at the Royal Rumble post-show press conference about her past experiences in 'Rumble matches and what the occasion meant to her.

“My first 'Rumble, I think I was number 26, and I was out in like three minutes or something. I’ve been number one and I haven’t won. I’ve been number seventeen or something and haven’t won. It’s honestly just such a ride. For me, to then, I don’t want to sound too cheesy, like just hang in there, but from the first 'Rumble that we’ve had, to one of my first one or two years on the main roster, to now, where we are, it’s all about consistency and just seeing the bigger picture," said Bayley.

Bayley's victory in the Women's Royal Rumble Match propelled her onto WrestleMania 40, where she would then capture the WWE Women's Championship against her former Damage CTRL teammate IYO SKY.
