Tonight's WWE SmackDown will be the first episode since last weekend's Saturday Night's Main Event show. It is packed with several major appearances, championship matches, and more.
The December 20, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown will take place at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. It's the same location as last week since tonight's show won't air live and was already taped after the previous episode to give the superstars more time to spend with their families during the holidays.
XL Center has a capacity of up to 16,606 and has hosted several weekly shows and premium live events like WrestleMania XI, 2000 No Way Out, 2004 Vengeance, and the 2019 Money in the Bank.

What to know about the upcoming WWE SmackDown episode?
Since tonight's Friday Night SmackDown show was taped and not live, match results and a few segments are already released. Those who want to know what happened and spoilers ahead of the episode can view them here.
At Saturday Night's Main Event, Cody Rhodes was able to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. While celebrating the win, The Prizefighter attacked The American Nightmare, resulting in the latter sustaining an injury. Following what happened, Kevin is set to appear tonight.
A few weeks ago on WWE SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes said he wanted to prove himself on the brand, and Nick Aldis delivered last week by having him face Braun Strowman. Carmelo failed to win last week, and it would be interesting to see if the results will be the same or if a new victor will emerge when the two have a rematch tonight.
LA Knight and Andrade were subjected to an attack from The Bloodline a few weeks ago on the Friday show. Tonight, the former rivals, Knight and Andrade, will team up alongside Apollo Crews against The Bloodline.
Bianca Belair is left without a partner on WWE SmackDown after Jade Cargill was attacked a few weeks ago backstage. Last week, Nick Aldis informed her that she had to relinquish the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, but Naomi stepped in to be her partner. Tonight, both women will defend the title.
#DIY successfully defeated Motor City Machine Guns to become the new Tag Team Champions a few weeks ago on WWE SmackDown by playing dirty. Tonight, Johnny Gargano will go against Alex Shelley in a singles match.
