#1 Shane McMahon

What could be a bigger way to instigate the WWE Universe than to call yourself 'The Best in the World', a title previously used by the cult-hero, CM Punk? Shane McMahon has made the perfect use of what seemed an insignificant World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel to turn it into a full-fledged storyline with The Miz. His allegiance with The Miz, which received lukewarm responses initially, gained steam as the weeks went on. Winning the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship was an icing on the cake.
Therefore, when he turned on The Miz and then attacked him at Fastlane in front of The Miz's father, it made for an extremely impactful storytelling which culminated at The Miz. To everyone's surprise, the feud was well-received by fans and critics. Shane McMahon has been especially appreciated for his heel work and his role in turning a natural heel like The Miz into a likeable babyface.
Currently, he is putting in double duties on both Raw and SmackDown Live. On Raw, he is continuing his entertaining yet personal feud with The Miz and is set to face him at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view in a Steel Cage Match. On SmackDown Live, he is embroiled in a feud with Roman Reigns with the assistance of Elias. Perhaps, it is owing to his exceptional work as a heel that he has been entrusted with the opportunity to appear on both the brands.
