John Cena made a surprise appearance at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event last weekend and announced that he will retire from WWE in 2025. The Cenation Leader declared that he will have a retirement tour that will start in January 2025 and last through December. He said that WrestleMania 41 would be his final 'Mania outing.
With that in mind, fellow superstars have already emerged as candidates to face John Cena in the premium live events of 2025. One of them is Randy Orton, who has become the odds-on favorite to take on the 16-time World Champion at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
Cena and Orton have a lot of history, and fans should consider it a no-brainer that WWE will go down that path.

John Cena vs. Randy Orton will mark the end of an era
John Cena and Randy Orton are two of the superstars who thrived during the Ruthless Aggression era in WWE (2002-2008).
Not many superstars who competed at that time are still part of WWE today (CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are the other two). Thus, John Cena's departure would mark the end of an era since Cena and Orton dominated the Ruthless Aggression era that changed the landscape in WWE.
It would re-ignite their feud one last time
John Cena and Randy Orton have faced each other numerous times, not only on RAW and SmackDown but also in premium live events, where WWE or the World Heavyweight Championship was on the line.
Their rivalry lasted for over a decade until The Cenation Leader decided to become a part-time wrestler and follow a career as an actor.
Thus, a match between the two megastars at WrestleMania 41 would re-ignite their feud one last time and bring the perfect closure to their rivalry since it would take place at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
It would be the perfect opportunity for Randy Orton to turn heel again
It has been a while since Randy Orton was a heel. He has been a babyface for too long, but this character change didn't make him the World Champion.
Thus, it is likely that The Viper will turn heel soon, which would let him start new feuds and storylines. If this doesn't happen in the short term, though, WWE should proceed with Orton turning heel at WrestleMania 41 and his match against Cena.
It would be the perfect opportunity, as Cena was a babyface during their rivalry, and Orton thrived as a heel.
