Big E is set to make his first appearance next to his New Day friends, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, since he was ruled out indefinitely with a serious neck injury.

It was back on March 11, 2022, when the former WWE Champion sustained the serious neck injury. Big E teamed up with Kofi Kingston against Sheamus and Ridge Holland.

During the match, Ridge Holland delivered a dangerous move to Big E at ringside (belly-to-belly suplex), which saw the New Day star fall awkwardly and break his neck.

The former WWE Champion left the ring on a stretcher, underwent surgery, and has been recovering since then. Even though he was expected to never wrestle again and retire, he has kept the door open for a comeback if he is medically cleared to compete.

Big E never accused Ridge Holland of being responsible for his injury, defending the WWE star from the backlash he got from fans, some of whom still blamed him for the New Day member's injury.

Big E wouldn't be disappointed if he had to retire amid recovery from neck surgery

Even though WWE fans would be excited to see Big E back in the ring, the former WWE Champion has been at peace with the idea of being forced to retire amid his recovery from his neck surgery.

In a Players Tribune article, the WWE star said he wouldn't be disappointed if he were unable to wrestle again, as there are plenty of things he could do outside of the ring.

"You know that thing I said earlier — how I’m someone who spent his past not being able to picture a future? I can picture one now. Which is ironic, I guess, since I broke my neck and can’t wrestle. But I’m at peace. And if that’s truly a wrap on my in-ring career….... I’m excited to explore the paths that are opening up for me in its wake. Whether it’s working for WWE outside of the ring, or it’s hosting, or acting, or voice work, or filmmaking, or so many other things. I feel like there are still so many parts of myself for me to discover," the former WWE Champion said. [h/t Sportskeeda]

Heading into tonight's 10-year celebration of The New Day, it will be interesting to see whether he will have a segment to address his current status.
