The WWE ID program is routinely making noise on social media. This program enacted by Triple H is similar to World Wrestling Entertainment's NIL program, except it focuses on independent wrestling talent who are developing their skills, as opposed to young college athletes.
18 names have been officially ID'd thus far, with two wrestlers being revealed tonight. One is Freedom Ramsey, the other is somebody many wrestling fans may be familiar with: Kylie Rae.
Kylie, who is 32 years of age, is a pro wrestler who has been in the industry for over eight years now. She had her first match back in 2016 and has since competed for numerous notable wrestling promotions, including AEW, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), and TNA Wrestling.
Kylie's time in All Elite Wrestling was quite short, only having one match before parting ways with the Tony Khan-led promotion. She competed in a Four-way match with Britt Baker, Nyla Rose, and Awesome Kong at AEW Double or Nothing 2019.
Rae is from Oak Forest, Illinois, and is billed as being from Chicago, which is always a great market for pro wrestling and one WWE goes to often. Now, she has a chance to potentially live her dream if the Stamford-based promotion signs her to a proper deal in the future.
Kylie Rae has competed for WWE before
While Kylie Rae has never been officially signed to a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, she is not new to the sports entertainment juggernaut. She took part in a few tryouts early on in her career, with the most recent taking place in 2022.
2022 was a big year for Kylie and WWE in general, as she actually had a match in the promotion. It was not a dark match or even a squash match like one would expect. Instead, she had a broadcasted bout and was given a new name.
Kylie competed as Briana Ray on the December 12, 2022, edition of Main Event. The 32-year-old competed against Dana Brooke in a singles competition and instead of losing in a minute or two, she fought against the latter for over six minutes before falling to a Swanton Bomb.
Many people believed that Kylie Rae was set to sign with the Stamford-based promotion. Instead, Vince McMahon returned and enacted a hiring freeze that prevented new talent from joining the company. Whether this directly impacted Kylie or not isn't known.
Regardless, Rae is now one step closer to reaching the highest heights possible as a potential WWE Superstar under the creative leadership of Triple H.
