Sexyy Red made her WWE debut on tonight's episode of NXT (May 28) and announced that she will be hosting the Battleground premium live event on June 9. She is one of America's fastest-rising rappers who recently linked up with names such as Drake and Nicki Minaj.
The 26-year-old Missourian musician's career started when she penned a diss track to her ex-boyfriend. She showed him the rap, and he liked it despite the lyrics being aimed at him, per Business Insider.
Sexyy Red has since become a popular name in the music world, especially over the past year. Her track Pound Town went viral on TikTok, leading to a remix featuring Nicki Minaj in May.

The Normandy High School graduate is also close friends with Drake and they have posted pictures with each other on Instagram. Her handle can be followed at @sexyyred. She released a track this month titled U My Everything featuring the Canadian rapper.
Sexyy Red danced her way down the ramp when appearing on WWE NXT. The rapper not only announced she'd be hosting Battleground. She also unveiled the new NXT North American Women's Championship which will be up for grabs at the PLE.
Who will compete for the NXT North American Women's Championship unveiled by Sexyy Red?
The inaugural winner of the North American Women's Championship will have to go through five opponents at Battleground. The title will be contested in a six-woman ladder match.
Five competitors have booked their place in the match so far. Sol Ruca, Lash Legend, Fallon Henley, Jaida Parker, and Michin are set to battle in the ladder match. The latter beat Tatum Paxley to qualify, while the last remaining competitor will be determined.
That will be either Wren Sinclair or Kelani, with the two squaring off on tonight's episode. That will complete the field for Battleground, which takes place at the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada.
The first-ever North American Women's Championship match is booked with the same stipulation the men's title was. Adam Cole became the inaugural NXT North American Champion when he won a six-man ladder match at NXT Takeover: New Orleans in April 2018.
That ladder match is touted as one of the best in WWE history and one of the black and yellow brand's all-time greatest. The women will be eager to put on a show in Nevada with the Women's North American Championship on the line.
