Why Bray Wyatt should face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble

Finn Balor's rumoured Royal Rumble match is in jeopardy with rumours of Vince McMahon holding the opinion that the Demon King is still not over. With that being said, I know a lot of you are reading the title to this article and thinking "Are you crazy? Bray Wyatt facing Brock Lesnar?"

While I can see where that sentiment is coming from, let me try and explain to you why I feel like he is the perfect person to face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble PPV next month.

First off Brock Lesnar has pretty much run through everyone on the RAW roster since winning the Universal title from Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33. He first defeated Samoa Joe at Great Balls of Fire. He then beat Joe again along with Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman in a Fatal 4 Way match at Summerslam and then went on to defeat Strowman in a singles match at No Mercy.

While you could feed any one of these stars again to Lesnar, they are both in a feud at the moment with Joe about to begin a programme with Reigns for the Intercontinental Championship and Strowman feuding with Kane.

Apart from the aforementioned stars and other Shield members such as Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose -- who are feuding with Sheamus and Cesaro for the tag team titles -- who else is on the RAW roster (besides Balor) is "big" enough to face Brock Lesnar?

No one....except Bray Wyatt. Despite losing feud after feud, Wyatt is a former WWE Champion and is credible enough to carry a PPV match with Lesnar.

Secondly, The Royal Rumble is a PPV that doesn't need a marquee name in a title match to sell the show as most people watch the Royal Rumble for the iconic Rumble match itself. It is one of the few PPV's where the title matches usually are just placeholder bouts to fill the card out.

It is also a PPV where mid-carders or upper mid carders are pushed into World Title matches because the Rumble match itself sells the PPV, not the title matches.

I feel like Wyatt fits that criteria perfectly.

An upper mid-carder who isn't doing anything at the moment and is credible enough to have a one-off title match with the Beast Incarnate. Lastly, This match makes perfect sense because Wyatt and Lesnar have unfinished business. If you remember back at the 2016 Royal Rumble, Wyatt and the Wyatt Family eliminated Lesnar from the match, thus igniting a feud between the two.

This was leading to a match between the two at the Roadblock PPV but Wyatt suffered a back injury and the match was changed to a 2-1 Handicap contest between Lesnar and Wyatt and Luke Harper, which Lesnar would go on to win.

Going by this logic, Wyatt and Lesnar never had a match to finish their budding rivalry. So what better place to have the match than at the place that kicked the feud off two years ago?

Wrapping the piece up with what you should expect if the Eater Of Worlds and the Beast Incarnate indeed go one-on-one at the Rumble.

It's obvious that Wyatt would lose the match to Lesnar if he does go on to face him at the Royal Rumble next month. If you take a look at the RAW roster as it is currently constituted, and go by the assumption that Finn Balor will not be facing Lesnar, then there is no better opponent for the Universal Champion at the Winter Classic PPV then Bray Wyatt.

Let me know what you guys think and I hope you enjoyed reading this article!
