It is that time of the year again, It's Raw Vs SmackDown. It is Survivor Series and again just like last year, we will have Brock Lesnar Fighting it out against AJ Styles in the Champion Vs Champion match on the Pay-Per-View. it is a repeat of the last year's match and it does look like it would be a repeat of the last year's match with Brock winning the match after his signature F-5 on AJ Styles. Even though it would be amazing to see the underdog in AJ Styles win it does seem unlikely that WWE will let that happen. Here's why.
The Bigger Championship
If one really has any doubts over which of the two titles is preferred by WWE then all they have to do is just see how many main events have been headlined by the respective titles ever since the two met last year. The score is a clean sweep of 3-0 in favour of the Universal Title. The stars in contention for each title also paint a clear picture about WWE's inclination.
The Bigger Star
There's no doubt right now that the momentum generated around Brock Lesnar is much bigger as compared to AJ Styles. Although it's true that AJ Styles is the undisputed champion at SmackDown it can't be argued that Brock Lesnar's popularity currently supercedes it, especially with an upcoming Daniel Cormier fight at the UFC.
New Contract
Brock Lesnar has just renewed his contract. He has just won back the title by squashing Braun Strowman of all people. A brand new champion, a Huge win under his belt recently and to add to it another contract signed by WWE which persuaded him to stay back. Does any of these developments eventually lead to AJ styles winning? Probably not.
Best For Business
Brock Lesnar has been built up as this larger than life character in WWE - an unstoppable machine, The Beast Incarnate. The reason he's built up like this is that when the next guy handpicked by WWE beats him (Drew Mcintyre in all probability), then that guy gains the momentum and takes the company to the top. Will it make sense for someone with such an Aura to get beaten by AJ Styles and in the process lose all the mystique behind him? It just doesn't seem like a smart business decision.
So even though it would make a nice story for an underdog like AJ Styles to win against Brock Lesnar it does seem highly unlikely that it's going to happen, at least not in this Pay-Per-View.
