Carlito has been reportedly dealing with some backstage heat after a segment he had with RAW GM Adam Pearce on the October 21 episode of the red brand. More specifically, the 45-year-old wrestler supposedly went off script, speaking to IYO SKY and Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL, when the latter were walking out of Pearce's office.
"I gotta learn Chinese," Carlito said before starting his segment with Adam Pearce. The former United States Champion received a lot of backlash from fans for his comments, who took a shot at him for the remark, calling it racist since both IYO and Kairi are Japanese.
This line was allegedly off script and WWE personnel were surprised, with reports suggesting that there was backstage heat on Carlito afterward.
"That line was unscripted, that was from Carlito. There was some heat on Carlito for it. I know, speaking to people I talked to, it did take them by surprise. So, we'll see what happens out of it. I don't know how big a deal they're gonna make it, but probably not a great look for Carlito," WrestleVotes said on a Q&A with Bill Apter on Backstage Pass.

The question is whether Carlito, who could leave The Judgment Day going forward, might be sanctioned by Triple H for his remark and going off script.
What did Carlito say in the backstage segment with Adam Pearce?
WWE had to edit the segment between Carlito and Adam Pearce to remove the controversial line, so any clips that went online on the company's official accounts started with Adam Pearce asking Carlito what he wanted in his office.
The Judgment Day member wanted Pearce to give Dominik Mysterio a shot at Gunther's World Heavyweight Championship. The GM of RAW laughed at the idea but eventually agreed to give Dirty Dom an opportunity to make it to a No.1 Contender's match.
Dominik Mysterio will now collide with a former world champion on RAW next week, and if he wins, he will move to a No.1 contender's match. It is unknown who this former world champion is, but given the current storyline, Dirty Dom will probably take on Damian Priest, who is set to go after Gunther after Crown Jewel.
