Why did Chris Benoit kick The Miz out of the WWE locker room?

Since signing with WWE, The Miz has gained the respect of fans and fellow superstars in the locker room. With an extremely successful career, the two-time Grand Slam Champion is considered a future Hall of Famer.

However, things were not always easy for The Miz. In 2006, when he had moved to the main roster as a rookie, The A-Lister was not allowed to enter the locker room and be alongside fellow WWE Superstars.

The late Chris Benoit banned him from the locker room after an incident. More specifically, Benoit called The Miz out for eating chicken over referee Scott Armstrong's bag. The former champion denied the accusations, but this was not enough to stop Chris Benoit from banning him from the locker room.

While speaking with WWE 24 back in 2021, The Miz said:

Check out which wrestler EC3 finds cute RIGHT HERE

"One day I was eating a piece of chicken in the locker room. Someone comes in and goes, ‘Dude, you’re eating over my bag.’ And his bag was right there. I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no.’ Another person walked in, ‘Oh, you got stuff on his bag? How could you do that? Unbelievable.’ And I thought they were joking.... And he goes, ‘You are not allowed to dress in our locker room. I think you should just stay out of the locker room.'"

It took the former Intercontinental Champion seven months to return to the locker room, and The Undertaker allowed him to re-enter the locker room.

The Miz didn't expect WWE to offer him a documentary

Despite his career accomplishments, The Miz was surprised to find out that he was getting his own documentary and couldn't believe WWE was considering him a legend.

The 44-year-old wrestler expressed his excitement about having his own documentary in WWE and hoped people would enjoy his story.

"When they offered me a documentary, I said I couldn’t because I was still active. Their counter was, ‘You’ve been there 20 years. You’ve been there longer than most of the people we’re covering.’ So I agreed....It’s a story of hard work, determination, losses, and wins. This is a story of the kid from the Midwest who becomes one of the biggest WWE superstars. And it’s my favorite story because it’s my story. I hope people enjoy it," he told WWE, via Sports Illustrated.

The former Tag Team Champion will now be waiting to see if he will be part of the SummerSlam Premium Live Event on August 3, which takes place in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
