Why did Dominik Mysterio break character during SummerSlam weekend? Exploring reason for the move

Dominik Mysterio is one of the biggest heels in WWE. Since Dominik turned his back on his father, Rey Mysterio, and joined The Judgment Day, the amount of heat he generates has been unreal. Every time Dominik tries to speak, he is booed to the point where fans can't hear what he has to say.

As of now, Dominik has completely embraced his character and plays it really well. However, during SummerSlam weekend, the Judgment Day member was forced to break character. Dominik broke character to meet his young fans, and the story was narrated by a fan.

As per a fan named Zach Hunter, Dominik Mysterio and Jey Uso had their meet & greets lined up at the same time. Due to the fear of missing out on one superstar, Hunter did not book both. Dominik's line finished early compared to babyface Jey Uso, and Hunter revealed he had nearly 80 people ahead of him in Jey's line.

Further, Hunter revealed that he walked up with Samuel, a kid, and Samuel's friend to ask the lady if Dominik could take a photo with the kids if he paid now. While the lady refused, Dominik Mysterio, who overheard the conversation, was quick to oblige for a photo.

While the lady said that Hunter would have to pay first or else the professional print wouldn't register with the system, Dominik said Hunter could settle that with the cashier while he spent time with the kids. Following this, Hunter paid the cashier while Dominik had a 10-minute chat with Samuel and his friend.

Zach Hunter added that in the meeting with Dominik, photos were snapped and cool handshakes were made. He concluded by saying that Samuel was on cloud 9 when he returned to Jey's line.

Wrestling legend believes Dominik Mysterio can never be a babyface again

Like the above-mentioned post, several people have spoken about Dominik Mysterio's kindness off-camera. However, despite this wonderful attribute, a wrestling legend believes Dominik will never be able to turn babyface again. The wrestling legend in question is Kenny Bolin.

After Dominik Mysterio betrayed Rhea Ripley to support Liv Morgan and became an even stronger heel, Bolin claimed in an interview with Sportskeeda that Dominik couldn't turn babyface again. Crediting Morgan and Dominik's work as heels, the wrestling legend said:

"I love Liv Morgan. Liv is an amazing heel, and obviously Dom, I don't think you can ever turn Dom babyface. And it looks like the fans want Rhea to be babyface. It looks like it's what they want." [From 8:33 onwards]

Given how WWE has been booking Dominik Mysterio, it seems they have no intentions of turning him into babyface. However, since WWE and Triple H can be full of surprises, one never knows.
