Drew McIntyre is preparing for a blockbuster match against CM Punk at SummerSlam, with Seth Rollins as the Special Guest Referee. McIntyre and Punk have a mega-feud that started at the Royal Rumble in late January and has continued for months.
The Scottish Warrior has fired shots at the Best in the World several times over the past few months and vice versa. This time, Drew McIntyre took to social media and posted a photo with AEW star Jack Perry, with the caption "It's a real photo, cry us a river".
The former World Heavyweight Champion tried to mock CM Punk again, as Punk and Perry have real-life heat that goes back to their time in AEW. A backstage brawl with Perry at the All In pay-per-view event on August 27, 2023, ended CM Punk's stint with the company.

Almost a year later, Punk and Perry continue to be rivals, and Drew McIntyre used this photo to troll his opponent just a few days before their match at SummerSlam. Drew has now deleted the image ahead of possible backlash.
As for Jack Perry, there has been concern about his status after taking a risky chair shot at the head during the July 24 episode of Dynamite, with wrestling fans and personalities taking to social media to share their thoughts on the incident.
The Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk feud is not expected to end at SummerSlam
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk continue to call each other out and will eventually collide at SummerSlam. Still, their feud is not expected to end in Cleveland, Ohio, next Saturday, August 3.
In fact, we should expect WWE to extend it to one or more of the coming premium live events (Bash in Berlin, Bad Blood). For now, Bad Blood in early October could be the PLE where the feud will end.
In addition, the presence of Seth Rollins as the Special Guest Referee could re-ignite his feud with McIntyre, which lasted for a few months in the first part of 2024. It is the next step in the Rollins vs. Punk feud, which is expected to reach its peak at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025.
