Why Rhea Ripley hasn’t wrestled on WWE RAW in over 9 months? Potential reason explored

Rhea Ripley will look to dethrone Liv Morgan and re-claim the Women's World Championship this Saturday, October 5, at Bad Blood. Mami will look to earn the title she lost in a rematch from SummerSlam, where Dominik Mysterio betrayed her and sided with the reigning champion.

This will be just the second time that The Eradicator will have a match since her return from a shoulder injury that sidelined her for three months after WrestleMania 40. What is more interesting is that Rhea Ripley has wrestled only once on WWE TV, other than the premium live events, either on RAW or SmackDown in 2024.

More specifically, she took on Ivy Nile for the Women's World Championship on January 1st, in the first RAW of 2024. Nine months later, she has wrestled only in premium live events since - Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam.

It seems that the reason for WWE keeping her out of in-ring action on the red brand is to potentially avoid re-aggravating the shoulder injury that cost her three months between April and July.

Amid her current rivalry with Liv Morgan, any injury could derail the storyline and would force the creative team to alter its plans and put a match between the two superstars on hold. Heading into Bad Blood, the question is whether Mami will return to in-ring action on RAW after her title match with Liv Morgan.

Liv Morgan takes a shot at Rhea Ripley ahead of Bad Blood

The rivalry between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan looks like it's quite far from being over. Ahead of their title match at Bad Blood 2024, the reigning Women's World Champion took another shot at Mami, calling her a 'loser.'

"Who? Rhea [Ripley]. The biggest, most pathetic, desperate, lonely, loser, who I think low-key still loves Dominik [Mysterio]. You know, I don’t think she’s still in love with him, but I think she’s highly, highly, highly, highly hurt and offended by Dominik, and I think she still wants his attention," Liv Morgan told Peter Rosenberg of Rosenberg Wrestling, via 411 Mania.

This time, RAW GM Adam Pearce has added a stipulation where Dominik Mysterio will be locked into a Shark Cage above the ring, meaning that he will be unable to help Liv in the match.

This gives Rhea Ripley an advantage, but it remains to be seen if The Judgment Day or any other superstar will get involved to help Morgan retain.
