WWE Hall of Famer was scheduled to appear at the NXT Takeover II event but was pulled off a few hours prior to the event as we had reported on last Thursday.
A personal conflict was cited as the reason behind Flair’s absence from the show. He was set to appear in a segment with Kenta and introduce him as Hideo Itami to the wrestling universe.
But it turns out that Flair was admitted at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. There was no confirmation as to why he was admitted, but it is being speculated that it could have been for some sort of a stomach surgery.
It is also said that the decision to pull him out from Takeover was taken late on Wednesday evening on September 10. This has been the second occasion where Flair had to be hospitalized in the same Medical Center since September 3rd.
As of this writing, WWE is still planning on having Flair work Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings in Biloxi as a special referee for Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton, likely the dark main event.
