The year started off with a bang when the WWE promised us one of the most mouth-watering feuds in recent memory – Brock Lesnar against the Wyatts. But just when we were about to find out if the Eater of Worlds could devour the Beast Incarnate, a bolt from the blue caused cracks in the landscape.
After the savage attacks on RAW and the Royal Rumble, most were anticipating some sort of development in the Lesnar-Wyatt feud at Fastlane which would condense at WrestleMania 32. But the abrupt change in program to the current Lesnar-Ambrose feud, though engaging, has left more than just the WWE Universe annoyed.
The WWE’s marquee attraction, Brock Lesnar and their top heel Bray Wyatt are both annoyed at being deprived of a feud. According to allwrestlingnews.com, both of them are scheduled to feud leading upto SummerSlam, but Brock was reportedly looking forward to facing Bray soon.
A couple of speculative explanations exist for this – there were reports that the patriarch of the Wyatts has sustained an injury, which could be corroborated by the fact that he’s barely wrestled of late, except for a live event which was held after the feud between Ambrose and Lesnar took shape.
Second, the WWE could still be apprehensive of their biggest investment, Roman Reigns, tanking and further corroding their numbers, forcing them to save this sure-fire ratings booster for the latter half of the calendar year which hosts two important PPVs in itself.
