WWE star CM Punk has become one of the most notable names in wrestling, and many things made him memorable. Aside from his wrestling skills, his talent on the microphone and physical representation made him a massive hit among fans. His ring signature ring gear is also why many remember him, and it's interesting that it's also linked with his hometown.

Even before joining WWE, one trademark CM Punk had was drawing an X on his hands, which was seen even during his Ring of Honor days. After joining the Stamford-based promotion, his logo changed to a hand holding a lightning bolt with four stars and stripes on top and bottom. Another variation is two hands crossed to form an X, with an X drawn behind each hand. Unsurprisingly, the reason for this logo is linked to his hometown of Chicago.

The stars and stripes on CM Punk's signature logo on his gear, merch, and entrance references the Chicago flag. As many may know, The Second City Saint was born in Chicago, Illinois. One thing in his representation allegedly not linked to his hometown is his name. While many may think CM stands for "Chicago Made," the superstar has "testified under oath" that it stands for "Chick Magnet."

Punk will return to his hometown on the June 21, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown. The episode will take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

What did CM Punk feel when he returned to WWE after almost a decade in front of his hometown in Chicago?

Punk left WWE in 2014 and made a shocking return to the company in 2023 at the end of that year's Survivor Series: Wargames event at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Unsurprisingly, fans in attendance erupted in cheers, which even caused the star to think he was having a medical condition.

While at the Countdown to WWE Backlash France, Punk stated that when he returned to the Allstate Arena, he couldn't hear his theme song or anything else due to how loud the place was. He even thought he was having a stroke.

"When I came back at Survivor Series, I couldn't hear Living Color. I couldn't hear anything. It was white noise. I thought I was having a stroke. Turns out, I wasn't. It was just a really, really loud crowd that was happy to see me."
