As WWE is preparing for the blockbuster move of Monday Night RAW to Netflix in January of 2025, there has been speculation about how the show will look after the show joins the famous streaming platform.
The main questions are whether it will remain a three-hour show or whether it will last for two hours and if it will become a commercial-free show. There is still no official reply to either question, but it appears that commercials will continue to exist on the show, but there might be a different format.
"There WILL be commercials on Netflix when WWE RAW arrives on the platform. One reason Netflix picked up the red brand's show is that they are working to incorporate commercials into their programming, and the pro wrestling audience is already accustomed to seeing ads during shows. However, Netflix will have more flexibility compared to traditional television. They can adjust the timing and duration of commercial breaks without the need for the show to adhere strictly to the second," WrestlePurists wrote on X.
As we are getting closer to the move to Netflix, WWE is expected to reveal more details on what the format of the show will be on the streaming platform.

TKO president expects the move to Netflix to help RAW grow immensely
The move to Netflix is expected to help Monday Night RAW grow immensely and TKO president Mark Shapiro shared his excitement about the potential of the red brand after its move to the streaming platform.
"[Netflix] could prove to be our best partner yet. [Netflix] is the real engine behind Raw and, by the way, much of what we’re doing internationally, and we’re excited. They are going to be a battleship when it comes to helping us grow our brand and grow our audience," Mark Shapiro said during an appearance on the Goldman Sachs conference, via Inside The Ropes Wrestling.
As it was recently announced, the red brand will have a two-hour show from October 7th to December 30, 2024, and it remains to be seen if this change will become permanent on Netflix.
