– William Regal who is considered as one of the best technical wrestlers ever has been working as the General Manager of NXT. Regal has a keen eye when scouting talent and has the perfect role in NXT.

On his recent neck surgery
Regal said that he suffered a neck injury in 2014 which had to be surgically repaired. He added that he went for a follow-up and was told that he needed one more surgery from the back which is more complicated.
Regal talked about being unable to be cleared by the WWE doctors as the calcium deposits on his cervical vertebras needed to be cleaned. He also stated that the WWE Wellness program doctor told him that Regal might be good as new after recovering from the current surgery.
"I believe the operation is called a laminectomy, where they go in and completely clean out the calcium deposits from the back. Now that I’ve got this done, it’s just a matter of healing up and I’ll be good to go. Dr. Maroon, who is head of the WWE Wellness Program, performed the operation."
On the time of his recovery
Regal stated that there is a lot of resting and walking during the initial stages, He said that he won't be able to wrestle during the NXT Tour of UK, but added that he will be definitely present for the tour. He also said that he isn't supposed to fly for three to four weeks but is looking forward to wrestling shows in the month of December.
"I won’t be able to go on WWE’s November tour, which I normally always go on to do TVs in Manchester, which is a shame. But, as long as I’ll be there for December"
On his comeback into the ring
He said that he is quite content on not wrestling as he has been doing so since the past 32 years. He stated that he has worked full time for at least 26 years and that the body takes its toll due to the physical style of wrestling that he exhibits.
Regal said that he is not desperate to return as he has seen and done everything in this business.
"I worked a solid full-time schedule for 26 years. Most people don’t get anywhere close to that, especially with the physical style I did. So if I don’t do anything else, I’m quite happy with that. There’s no problem with that, to me."
