The only way I can think of this turning out well for Reigns is if he wins the title, but he turns heel in the process. It’s been discussed many times over, including Steve Austin’s reasons for the move.
Reigns does not have to turn on Triple H to make a statement in Dallas. He could win, like planned and stand in the ring to the many boos by the fans.

Cue the music. The Rock comes in to cheer on and celebrate with his cousin. And when he sees the fans clearly behind the Brahma Bull, Reigns snaps and spears his family. It’s the unkindest cut of all and it solidifies him as a badass heel who now challenges Ambrose for the title one more time, this time as enemies, not friends.
