#1 Doesn’t make much logical sense
So, as stated above, Roman Reigns just came back from a life-threatening condition and faced the best and most ruthless heel of Raw – who had decimated every single member of the Shield before this match – and yet, Reigns came out with a clean win.
Even leaving that out, Reigns gains nothing from this win – at least not as much as McIntyre would have had he won, or even lost due to Reigns using illegal means to get the upper hand.

As we have seen in the past, the company force-feeding Roman Reigns to the fans doesn't go down too well. As a result, they need multiple wrestlers to step up and be the face of the company.
McIntyre has those attributes as a heel and a push for him in this match would have done him wonders in the long-run.
But, unfortunately for McIntyre, that didn’t happen.
