I admit that if this happens, it would be a strange match with little build and anticipation and really, is not a match that anyone is potentially excited about. But that said, is there any way to build Lashley as an Intercontinental Champion than by having him pin John Cena at WrestleMania 35?
Female superstar says she inspired John Cena turning heel HERE
If the eventual plan is to make Lashley a worthy opponent for Lesnar, this could be a very big stepping stone to rebuild his credibility in my opinion. John Cena would proclaim that he's never won the Intercontinental Championship in his lifetime, and he needs to win to cement his legacy. Lio Rush could end up costing him the match.

All said and done, I don't think Cena should win this match if it happens. The Intercontinental Championship should be around the waist for a full-timer.
Lashley doesn't have an opponent for WrestleMania yet.
