WrestleMania XXX: 5 Possible match stipulations for WWE World Heavyweight title

What needs to be added?

What needs to be added?

In what is proving to be a trip to disaster land, the WWE seems well set with their WrestleMania main event featuring Randy Orton and Batista for the WWE World Heavyweight championship.

Though Batista has started to gain some momentum with his heel turn, the match still sounds stale for headlining a legendary pay-per-view like WrestleMania thanks to the absence of any fan favorite and the presence of certain Randy Orton.

With matches having two heels going against eachother failing to make the mark even on weekly shows (apart from the young breed), it’s a big gamble with the odds stack against the creative team.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

However, the thing is, it’s never too late to make some well needed alterations to that match. So let’s take a look at the five stipulations that could make the match more interesting than making it end with a jeer fest.

5 – Loser leaves town

Take a break will you

Take a break will you

Well if the company wants the fans to cheer when WrestleMania ends with this match, this might be their only path.

And why would the fans cheer?

One reason, either Batista or Orton is going to be out of television for a long time.

It might sound a bit funny at once, but the WWE fans are always fond of some excellent sarcasm. So they won’t mind cheering in happiness realizing that they don’t need to see Orton come out every week and go on saying about how good he is.

The match however, is going to be least affected by the stipulation as Orton and Batista is going to be a sure failure in invoking emotions in the match.

Creative are going to look like fools if it doesn’t work also, but considering the fact that something is better than nothing, taking Orton out of the scene for some time is only going to help them on the long run as Orton could come back later with something more intense.

4 – Knock them out with nostalgia – Old WCW Gimmick match

Take us back to WCW

Take us back to WCW

So why don’t the company bring back the matches that PG era fans are dying to see.

WCW matches like War-games (not suitable for this one) and Tower of Doom always had a special place in the minds of the WWE fans. And with the turn of PG era, all of these fans were left with nothing like this despite WWE having all the resources and rights to deliver similar matches.

Though Orton and Batista won’t be able to take those big bumps in these hardcore matches, the dedication that these two men would put into this match will surely make the fans appreciate them.

Seeing such type of matches after a long time will take the fans back into the WCW era which could hide the flaws of both Orton and Batista.

It’s a risk worth taking for the company as they are so desperate not to screw up their main event.

3 – Bring in a Special Guest Referee – Best Choice – Steve Austin

Hell yeah

Hell yeah

It’s a simple theory: if the wrestlers aren’t great, bring in a legendary referee.

The inability of Orton and Batista to bias the fans will be easily solved by putting in a big name like Steve Austin or Rock into the mix to officiate the match.

Fans will have a lot to cheer about as the referee will be taking the centre stage on WrestleMania main event. Orton and Batista could then work out a good match while the fans will be anticipating who the legend prefers more.

It could also be a great idea if the company is trying to turn Orton into a face as he could act as a savior for the referee stamping Batista as a top heel.

Some overbooking and plethora of involvement from the guest referee will make the fans happy and that’s what everyone in WWE wants (or what they claim).

2 – Goat addition – Triple Threat match

Daniel Bryan seems to be heading straight on a collision course with Triple H at the moment which would officially book him for WrestleMania.

However, being stuck with Triple H takes Bryan out of the title picture which was the primary reason for Batista and Orton getting the reactions like these from the fans. so solving the problem from the root, getting Bryan into the main event and making it a triple threat one is sure to be a great encounter.

Bryan could work twice at WrestleMania facing off against Triple H first which will earn him a spot in the main event for the title.

Once they put Bryan in the match, there won’t be anything to worry about for the creative as the flying goat knows how to put on a show no matter how stale his opponents are.

Makin Bryan win the match will be a different level of excitement as it surely will make WrestleMania XXX a grand success.

1 - Four better than three – Fatal four way match

All the problems of having a stale main event for the WrestleMania started when CM Punk left the company.

The WWE was planning to put Bryan into the title picture and have Punk fight it out with Triple H, however, the void Punk left was irreplaceable giving the company no other choice than sacrificing Bryan.

After a pipe bomb in Chicago which made all the fans criticize the company, the WWE could pull off the real thing at WrestleMania main event.

Daniel Bryan could defeat Triple H in an undercard match and earning his spot in the main event and make it a triple threat match. And before the match starts, Vince McMahon could come out and make the fans go wild by adding a returning Punk to the match (since Punk has contract till July it could happen with the right push).

Punk, Bryan, Orton and Batista are going to give the fans a sure epic encounter which would make them forget that there was a real concern about the whole thing during the buildup.

No one is going to question the booking team as well after this one making it the best thing for business as Triple H always say.
