The WWE creative went through a lot of criticism last year for their inconsistent booking and vague storylines. And when the New year turned, all the fans are eagerly anticipating how they will fare when booking the Thirtieth Anniversary edition of WrestleMania.
There has been a lot of tease and rumors about the potential main events and undercard matches. But none of them are made official. The Royal Rumble are bound to make things more clear but before the big battle Royal approaches, here is a look at the best way that the WWE can book their wrestlers to give an exciting match card for WrestleMania.
The Real Americans vs. Big Show and Rey Mysterio vs. The Usos vs. Rybaxel vs. The Prime Time Players (Tag Team titles )
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The tag team division almost single handedly carried the company during the slumps in 2013. And only because of that all the teams deserve their spot in the grand stage.
A five way battle for the Tag titles is going to be chaotic, fun and the best way to start off the night. High octane action in the ring with these ten men will be an ideal starter course for all the fans who will witness history being made later that night.
Anyone could win the match but I personally would choose the Real Americans because of the consistency that they’ve had throughout the year and a title reign would work well for Antonio Cesaro who is going to places this year.
Hulk Hogan vs. Damien Sandow (Some Gimmick Match)
It’s not going to be one of those classic moments involving Hulk Hogan but it will definitely give the Legend some pay-per-view time which itself is a great achievement.
When it has Hogan and Sandow in it, the match promises to be a fun affair rather than a technical marvel. That’s the best way to use Hogan this year to give him a final farewell.
Sandow will have to sacrifice himself for Hogan but being in the ring with such a legend will be a great achievement for his career. Not many could say that they faced Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania and Sandow’s resume is bound to be boosted after the match. So it’s a win- win situation for both the wrestlers and the company while it’s a fun outing for the fans as well.
AJ Lee vs. Paige (Divas Championship)
AJ practically has no opponent left in the Divas division except Tamina Snuka. And to be fair Tamina is not of WrestleMania quality at the moment which makes the promotion of Paige to main roster and imminent move.
Paige already teased her feud with AJ in the last NXT episode of 2013 and it’s a mouthwatering prospect for all the WWE fans out there. The current NXT women’s champion is the only one who could match AJ in terms of in ring skills and charisma. And this match could also be the oxygen that the Diva’s division clearly needs.
The anti-diva vs. diva bout also adds more dimension to the whole thing. Summing up it’s going to be a dream match for all the women’s wrestling fans out there.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Big E Langston vs. Mark Henry vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (Intercontinental Championship)
Langston has been a wrecking machine ever since he won the InterContinental championship. And by the looks of it the title will remain in his waist cum WrestleMania.
It’s pretty much throwing all the midcarders into a title bout but its way better than making a one on one match for the title. Most of the title defenses of Langston seemed like elongated squash matches so another singles match need not be reproduced at WrestleMania.
A returning Rob Van Dam and Del Rio could fight it off between themselves building a feud for the future. Same goes for Langston and Henry as we could see their friendship turn into rivalry giving us so much to look forward to. Ziggler and Miz will add the icing on the cake by making the match more technical.
A win for Langston is the ultimate push he could get which makes it the best way to book the Intercontinental Championship.
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus (For No.1 Contendership for the Unified Title)
The two scenarios that should happen for this match are Orton losing the title to Brock Lesnar at Elimination chamber and Sheamus returning.
By the looks of it both are bound to happen making this the most possible match to go down. Orton might be a big star but he doesn’t have the heat currently to go and feud with the likes of Cena or Lesnar. So giving him a match with returning Sheamus for a good opportunity at stakes would be a great move.
They both have had matches in the past so there is no fear of any lack of chemistry. However, the creative should give special priority to keep the match fresh so that it doesn’t look repetitive.
Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust (Special Guest referee- Dusty Rhodes)
The amount of emotions in this match is too damn high. The split and feud of the Rhodes brothers are the most predictable outcome of their current title reign.
Goldust clearly seems to be hiding behind Cody who is been shown as the better from the two. Adding in Dusty Rhodes makes things more complex and interesting. But sadly this could be the end of Goldust unless he is given a good midcard push by the creative.
But as far as Cody is concerned the future is bright for him. He could establish himself as a main event player this year and could well go to feud with the likes of Randy Orton or John Cena when the part timers finally go back to their dens.
The Wyatt Family vs. The Shield
The last nail on the coffin of Shield, this match will establish The Wyatt family as the top heel trio in WWE and give Roman Reigns the turn that will twist his career.
A match between these two was teased various occasions by the WWE but it never took of from them. The fans were left chanting “This is Awesome” every time so the creative could utilize that awesome idea at WrestleMania.
The mind games of the creepy guys will be too much for the Shield and will eventually act as the catalyst for the breakup as the match goes on. Future prospects like Reigns and Bray Wyatt will also have the chance to make headlines at WrestleMania as this match makes the pay-per-view a must watch event.
Batista vs. Brock Lesnar (For the Unified Championship)’
The Animal vs. The Beast. Brock Lesnar winning the title at Elimination chamber defeating Randy Orton and Batista winning the Royal Rumble, the consequence of these two events will give us this physical marvel.
The MMA crossover guys fighting it out for the WWE title would be a fresh thing and the fact that these two haven’t faced eachother in a WWE ring adds to it.
Paul Heyman and Batista will lock horns throughout the buildup and getting Batista a fresh opponent rather than already tested Cena or Orton will be sure ticket seller. Batista could win the title and stay around for some time as Lesnar would return to his hibernation successfully after giving another epic match at WrestleMania.
The Authority vs. The Rebel, ring any bells? It’s the modern version of Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon on a larger and better scale. A match between these two was teased to the core every time they got on each other’s face.
Punk clearly isn’t on the title scene right now and Triple H also doesn’t have any opponent for WrestleMania. A match between these two surely promises to produce sparkles.
The result could go either way, but Punk winning will open a door for Triple H making his life a living hell for the rest of the year. A long rivalry involving Punk and Triple H might dominate 2014 with Kane and Stephanie McMahon being involved also. It’s a match that is sure to happen sooner or later but the sooner the better.
Daniel Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels
The Mentor vs. The Protégé. Bryan shocked the whole WWE universe when he joined the Wyatt family. He said he was tired of the machine despite the fans being with him. At the same time there was many instants that he got knocked out by Shawn Michaels and vice versa.
This match has to happen because Michaels deserves to go out of WWE on a winning note. His final match was a loss against the Undertaker and this match could rewrite the history.
Bryan also deserves to be the WrestleMania main event for everything he has done and a loss against a legend like Michaels will only boost his career. It a major win for everyone involved so this match is going to be one of the highlights of this year’s WrestleMania if it happens.
John Cena vs. The Undertaker
Cena has been the face of the company, he won the WWE championship 14 times, he did that he did this, and the only thing that’s bothering him is a match for the most illustrious streak in sports entertainment.
Could the setting be any better for the WrestleMania main event? Cena is the most credible and suitable option to face The Undertaker this year. He not only adds the star power to the match but also opens the possibility of the streak finally ending.
The match won’t be doomed by predictability like the last year’s one and we could see history being made if Cena actually breaks Taker’s two decades of hard work.
The company wouldn’t also hesitate to make this happen as Cena is clearly the biggest star of his generation. It would be a great farewell match for Taker and the best main event for the thirtieth anniversary of WrestleMania.
