Wrestling news: Sean Waltman is reportedly missing

The former Cruiserweight Champion has gone off the grid!

What's the story?

International Pro Wrestling: UK has just released a statement in which they claim Sean Waltman aka X-Pac is missing. He was supposed to appear and wrestle his final match in the United Kingdom before the concerning news was revealed by the promotion.

In case you didn’t know....

Waltman was scheduled to wrestle a six-man tag team match alongside Scott Star and Chakara against the team of Sammy Smooth, Adam ‘Flex’ Maxted and Livvi Grace. The promotion booked the six-person match in order to protect a physically worn down Waltman.

The former D-Generation X member looked to be in the best shape of his life if his recent photo was anything to go by and it’s quite surprising that he decided to no show.

The heart of the matter

IPW: UK took to their facebook page and issued the following statement:

X-Pac has had a really tough time ever since he parted ways with the WWE, with a long-drawn battle against substance abuse taking a toll on his health and reputation in the industry. He once even wrestled a match against AJ Styles while he was completely high. He was forced to clean up his act and was doing quite well for himself with his podcast.

Impact

The former WWE European Champion’s absence will surely hurt the prospects of IPW, who’ve advertised the show with his final UK match being the marquee attraction. The promotion has already found a replacement for him on short notice and we hope it would be enough to satiate the fans.

Author’s take

We pray for Waltman’s well being and hope he’s safe. Considering his track record, we at Sportskeeda and the pro wrestling fraternity are quite concerned about his whereabouts. Stay tuned for more updates on the story as it develops.
