Admit it, almost everyone in the WWE Universe have had a dream scenario where we wanted to see movie characters jump in between the ropes and fight someone from the WWE roster.Over the years, we’ve seen numerous guest appearances on WWE shows but most of them promoted the actor as himself rather than the character. Though it would be nearly impossible to see an actor getting into the ring and play out his character in a wrestling match, we as fans don’t have to pay any taxes for dreaming do we?So after seeing which film characters would be played by the superstars, here is a look at all those mouthwatering dream matches that could come out of the WWE – Hollywood cross over.
#10 Steve Austin vs John McClane (Die Hard)
Austin might not be a regular wrestler now but he is a name without whom the history of professional wrestling wouldn’t be complete. The Texas Rattlesnake was the backbone of WWE’s Attitude Era and he almost single handedly carried the company on his shoulders during that period.
One trait that stood out about Steve Austin was his character. He didn’t care about who was against him and had a mouth full of foul language whenever he had to use it. The same goes for John McClane. McClane is not only known for being a lone wolf against big odds, but he has a foul mouth and attitude similar to Austin making them ideal opponents.
#9 Roman Reigns vs Predator (Predator)
The first film of the Predator series saw Arnold Schwarzenegger going alone against the alien creature. Schwarzenegger was no match in strength against the predator but he did come out on top once it was all over.
Arnold is in no condition to have another fight with the creature, and Reigns would be a great replacement for the Terminator.
Reigns can go head to head with the creature with all his flashy moves. The fans would love to see Reigns deliver a superman punch or a spear to the thing and make sure that it doesn’t come back to planet earth.
#8 Sheamus vs Michael Myers (Halloween)
Sheamus and the depiction of Michael Myers in 2007 have a lot in common. Myers was someone who had brute strength while not caring about what is right and what is wrong. He had a lot of frustration to unload and the way he chose to do the same wasn’t pleasant to say the least.
WWE’s former United States champion also has almost all those traits. He is towering with his size and has unmatched strength and viciousness when it comes to being in the ring. Sheamus also has this ‘doesn’t care about anything attitude which make the feud between these two more interesting if it was to happen in real life.
#7 Randy Orton vs Jack Torrance (The Shining)
Jack Torrance was the iconic character of Stanley Kurbick’s Shining and this was one guy who completely lost it. Being isolated in a hotel along with his family derailed Jack big time and all work and no play soon made him a dull boy.
Jack had this sheer determination of getting things done and coupled with his madness, it was one hell of a combination.
And if there is someone as unpredictable and lunatic as Jack, it has to be Randy Orton. A match made between these two would be nothing short of epic as both men would be trying to figure out who is deeper into the madness.
#6 AJ Lee vs. Samara (The Ring)
Samara’s video tape haunted everyone who watched it as she personally went for a deadly visit to the viewers before the seven day mark.
The name of the game was intimidation for the monster in The Ring. She made the process of crawling through the television look cool but AJ Lee is not someone who gets intimidated easily.
AJ has been ruling the Divas division for a long time now and apparently there isn’t anyone in the current roster that could provide her with a credible challenge. So maybe Samara could come in and creep out the divas champion.
#5 Rusev vs Hulk (Avengers)
After making his main roster debut, Rusev has been literally unstoppable. He has defeated every big name that was thrown into his path and recently came out conquering the Celtic Warrior which in turn made him the United States champion.
Hulk on the other hand is as equally unstoppable as the Bulgarian Brute. Once he gets raged up and turns into that big green thing, Bruce Banner destroys everyone that stands against him.
Both men embarking on a collision course is sure to give the fans a match worth watching. Also, it would be hard to pick a winner from between these monsters.
#4 Brock Lesnar vs. Bane (Dark Knight Rises)
WWE’s missing champion and Bruce Wayne’s night mare from Dark Knight Rises meeting in between the ropes would be monumental.
Bane was known for his sheer strength which and had an interesting backstory about him as well. His viciousness and mind games make him the ideal opponent for Lesnar who is also known for his strength.
The Dark Knight Rises featured two big fights between Batman and Bane and on both occasions, the Batman was looking inferior to Bane’s size. Lesnar would be a whole different case as he would have the power to stand toe to toe with Bane.
#3 Bray Wyatt vs. Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs)
Hannibal Lecter might’ve appeared in many Hollywood films but it was Silence of the Lambs which still stands out for portraying the cannibal at its best.
Lecter is someone who likes to play a lot of mind games with his opponent and break him psychologically before having his liver with fava beans. He is one of the scariest and vicious characters to come out of Hollywood while Bray has a similar upbringing in WWE.
A microphone battle between Bray Wyatt and Hannibal would be nothing short of mouthwatering for the WWE fans. They both have their way of delivering captivating dialogues and these two are literally ‘monsters’ making it a great encounter.
#2 John Cena vs. Tyler Durden (Fight Club)
The protagonist of Fight Club stood up against the system. He wanted everyone to be equal and didn’t like the way the society was going. People getting special treatment and one being all the others without a good reason made Tyler mad.
All this makes Cena the best opponent for Tyler. Over the years, the Cenation leader has been getting a lot of pampering from Vince McMahon causing a lot of inequality in the roster.
It would be a great backstory for the fight between the duo. When it comes to in-ring action, Tyler has proven himself as a great brawler which will probably make ground Cena within no time.
#1 Dean Ambrose vs the Joker (Dark Knight)
Once in many years comes a man who breaks all the traditional chains. Ambrose has been that man. He became the Anti-hero in the era of heroes and came out as one of the most unpredictable stars in the WWE rosters.
The Joker from Christopher Nolans Dark Knight Trilogy is arguably the most cult character that Hollywood has seen over the last decade.
Joker is an unpredictable lunatic just like Ambrose and though the former doesnt use much physicality against his foes, a match between Joker and Ambrose has all the right ingredients to sell out arenas across the world.
