Kalisto vs Buddy Murphy

The
Murphy and Kalisto look to prove that they should fight for the Cruiserweight Title

Kalisto is seen backstage talking to his teammates after their brawl at the beginning of the show. As he turned around, he ran into Buddy Murphy who told him that what was going to happen in the ring tonight was nothing personal.

Buddy Murphy came out to the ring first, followed by Kalisto. According to the commentary team, Murphy wanted to prove that his win last week was not a fluke.

Murphy forced Kalisto into the corner, overpowering the luchador. The two men then attempted a quick sequence of pinning attempts, before they ended it with a staredown.

Murphy put Kalisto on the mat with a wrist/finger lock, as the Best Kept Secret looked to ground the former Cruiserweight Champion. Murphy and Kalisto traded hurricanranas but neither man would fall.

Murphy threw Kalisto outside and attempted to fly over the ropes. However, he would instead slide under the ropes as Kalisto ran around the corner and back into the ring.

The game of chase gave Kalisto the upper hand, as he was able to use his speed to bring Murphy to his knees. He then hit Murphy with a flying top rope arm dram, forcing his opponent outside the ring.

Murphy quickly got back into the ring while Kalisto gave "Lucha" chants. Murphy decided that it was time to stop playing around, as he threw Kalisto into a corner and hit him with stiff punches and kicks. Murphy began to slow the match down, striking Kalisto and locking in an abdominal stretch.

Kalisto escaped the hold and applied a sleeper hold to the former NXT tag champion. However, Murphy was able to force Kalisto into the turnbuckle and followed up with a stiff boot to the head.

Before he could pull Kalisto over the ropes, the Lucha Dragon caught him with a kick to the head, then flew around the ring before hitting him with a spinning DDT, which was countered from a fireman's carry by Murphy.

Kalisto went for the pin, only for Murphy to kick out at two. Murphy and Kalisto fought to the apron on the outside of the ring, where he hit Kalisto with a running suplex on the apron. Murphy slowly rolled Kalisto into the ring, but only got a two-count from a pin attempt. Murphy then began to assault Kalisto with a handful of punches to the jaw, followed by a sickening pair of Irish whips into the turnbuckles.

As Murphy went for a clothesline running off the ropes, Kalisto caught him with a spinning wheel kick. Kalisto continued to fight to his feet, where he was able to fly around a bit more. Kalisto went for a springboard reverse hurricanrana, but the move was botched a bit. Murphy rolled to the outside, only for Kalisto to pursue him, flying over the ropes.

Kalisto threw him back into the ring and caught him with a basement hurricanrana. Murphy rolled outside again, and as Kalisto went after him, Murphy flipped him over onto the announcer's desk with a monkey flip. Murphy slid into the ring by the seven-count, with the former champion getting in right before he was counted out.

Murphy rocked Kalisto with a few hard punches to the jaw before the two traded quick striking combinations. Kalisto moved to the corner and caught Murphy with a kick. However, Murphy countered a hurricanrana into a powerbomb, only managing a two-count.

Murphy and Kalisto garnered loud "205" and "fight forever" chants at this point.

Murphy set Kalisto up for a superplex, but Kalisto fought out of it, forcing Murphy's face into the turnbuckle, followed by his roll-up kick and a Code Red. Murphy kicked out, however, and the crowd exploded.

Kalisto went to hit the Salida Del Sol, but Murphy hit Kalisto with a rough looking Murphy's Law for the three.

He went on to talk about how many great moments the WWE Universe will see on Sunday, but that the Cruiserweight Title Match will steal the show and will be everyone's WrestleMania moment.
